Abstract
Supervision of highly non-linear and time variant bioprocesses is of c onsiderable importance to bioindustries as a means of achieving improv ed productivity and reduced process variability. Artificial intelligen ce methodologies, including artificial neural networks and knowledge b ased systems, can contribute significantly to the achievement of these objectives.
