N. Nath et Jk. Deb, CURING OF PLASMIDS OF CORYNEBACTERIUM-RENALE - LACTOSE METABOLISM ANDCEPHALORIDINE RESISTANCE ARE NOT PLASMID-ENCODED, Biotechnology letters, 19(2), 1997, pp. 163-166
Corynebacterium renale exhibits cephaloridine resistance and lactose m
etabolism, a phenotype uncommon in corynebacteria. This strain possess
es several small plasmids. However when these were eliminated, the cur
ed strain still expressed the parent phenotype. Thus cephaloridine res
istance and lactose metabolism are not plasmid-associated in C. renale
.
