Abstract
Full details of the isolation and characterization of 52 alkaloids obt ained from the tubers of Stephania cepharantha HAYATA (Menispermaceae) cultivated in Japan are presented, along with the structural determin ation of a new bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid, 3,4-dehydrocycleanine ( 8).
