Abstract
The use of discrete organic compounds as active materials in transisto rs is described, beginning with alpha-sexithiophene (alpha-6T) and pro gressing to other thiophene oligomers and nonthiophene semiconductors. Device operation, molecular design, synthesis, film morphology and tr ansport of holes and electrons are covered.
