THE APPLICATION OF THE PARAMETER OF A FIS H SWIMMING PERFORMANCE FOR THE ESTIMATION OF THE PHYSIOLOGICAL-STATE OF STURGEONS

It was shown that under the conditions of a normative current velocity the weakened and. normal sturgeons showed a different time of swimmin g. The linear parameter of swimming performance could be used for esti mation of the physiological State of sturgeons. This parameter is equa l to the maximum distance covered by them at a normative current veloc ity and is expressed in the number of fish lengths. It is higher for h ealthy individuals and exceeds more than twice that in fish with a hig h degree of the pathology of organs and tissue. The obtained correlati on between the linear parameter of swimming performance of sturgeons a nd the cumulative index of the pathology of organs and tissue could be used as a behavioral test for estimation of the physiological state o f sturgeons and can reflect the degree of disease.
