1D-NMR (H-1 and C-13) and 2D-NMR spectroscopy as well as chemical mean
s have been used to determine the structures of three new feruloylated
disaccharides derived from acid hydrolysis of corn hulls. The structu
res of these oligosaccharides were determined to be a-L-arabinofuranos
yl)-(1-->3)-beta-D-xylopyranose, ha-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1-->3)-beta-D-
xylopyranose, and ha-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1-->3)-D-beta-xylopyranose.
