Abstract
An advanced cyclone MHD combustor possesses its own features according to the requirements of MHD power generation. This paper first describ es the structures of JS-2 and JS-3 coal-fired MHD combustors and their design considerations, as well as the major auxiliary systems. The th eoretical and experimental investigations on them are then introduced, and the experimental results are analysed. Finally, the application p rospects for MHD combustors are put forward.
