Studies on gradient elution were undertaken on a Hamilton PRP-X100 col
umn. Satisfactory analysis was produced by using a concentration gradi
ent in which the eluent ion concentration was increased over the run.
To conclude the overall investigation of glucosinolate separation by a
nion exchange chromatography, a polymethacrylate copolymeric anion exc
hanger was evaluated and compared with a silica anion exchanger and a
polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymeric anion exchanger for an isocrati
c analysis of glucosinolates. Different commonly used inorganic and or
ganic anions as well as alkanesulfonate anions and borate-gluconate mi
xtures were tested as aqueous mobile phase.
