Abstract
A case of hyperthyroxinemia with normal thyroid function and elevated thyroxine binding globulin (TBG) levels is reported, The patient was a n elderly Senegalese woman with a familial form of diffuse goiter. Blo od tests showed hypoalbuminemia with hypergammaglobulinemia. In this p atient without evidence of cirrhosis of the liver, the possibility of familial TBG elevation is discussed, as well as other, less likely cau ses.
