A. Venger et al., EVALUATION OF SEARCH ACTIVITY AND OTHER BEHAVIORAL ATTITUDES IN INDEFINITE SITUATIONS, Dynamische Psychiatrie, 29(5-6), 1996, pp. 368-377
A semiprojective test. (BASE) combining principles of both projective
tests and personality questionnaires was developed for the estimation
of search activity, renunciation of search, stereotyped behavior and c
haotic behavior. A pilot study with three groups of high school studen
ts was performed, using BASE and the questionnaire CASQ which evaluate
s the level of optimism. Group I contained 60 new immigrants with high
social adjustment, Group II contained 57 new immigrants with low soci
al adjustment, and a Control group contained 48 students of a Moscow s
chool. Attitude toward search activity predominated in group I and was
the lowest in group II, while renunciation of search was the lowest i
n group II, while renunciation of search was the most noticeable in gr
oup II and the lowest in group I. BASE discriminated both groups bette
r than CASQ.
