Abstract
Described are the process metallurgy and the operational planning in t he steel plant of this integrated iron and steel mill. which has a bro adly diversified mix of products. The facilities are geared tot among other things, the precise achievement also in respect to ultralow conc entrations in the steel. This equally applies to the temperature, as w ell as to the phosphorus level at the end of the BOF process. The oper ations are planned and controlled in the steel plant with the aid of a process scheduling model. The special features of the metallurgical t reatment are discussed, taking the example of different groups of stee l grades.
