Abstract
We present the results of inelastic neutron-scattering measurements of the spin wave and phonon dispersion in the antiferromagnetic semicond uctor chalcopyrite CuFeS2. The spin waves are steeply dispersive, and are described well by a simple local-moment model that considers only nearest-neighbor interactions. The nearest-neighbor exchange energy is determined as 2.27(2) THz, and there is an anisotropy gap of 1.28(1) THz.
