From a measurement of the time-resolved and steady-state fluorescence
anisotropies of C-60 and C-70 in low-temperature organic glasses, it i
s concluded that the fluorescence of C-60 is intrinsically unpolarized
, and that the emission transition moment of C-70 is located in the mo
lecular xy plane. Also for C-70, hut at higher energies, some transiti
ons occur mainly along the z molecular axis.
