Am. Yu et al., ELECTROCATALYTIC REDUCTION AND DETERMINATION OF NITRIC-OXIDE AT A HEMOGLOBIN MODIFIED ELECTRODE, Analytical letters, 30(5), 1997, pp. 1013-1023
The chemically modified electrode, which was constructed by depositing
hemoglobin at the surface of glassy carbon electrode, shows significa
nt electrocatalytic activity to the reduction of nitric oxide. The cat
hodic peak potential is -0.68V (vs.SCE). The effect of solution pH on
the electrochemistry of nitric oxide was also studied. When used as an
amperometric detector, the current is linear with concentration in th
e range from 2.9x10(-4) M to 1.1x10(-2) M and the detection limit is 1
x10(-4) M nitrite.
