I. Yousfi et A. Bermond, THERMODYNAMICS AND EXPERIMENTS RELATED TO THE BARIUM EXCHANGE OF TRACE-ELEMENTS IN SOIL SAMPLES, Environmental technology, 18(2), 1997, pp. 161-170
The mobility of trace elements in polluted soil samples is usually est
imated with chemical reagents. This study aims to compare thermodynami
c and experimental results, dealing with the extraction of trace eleme
nts in controlled conditions (ratio m/v; selectivity of the different
reactions; transfer of trace elements). Due to the good adequation of
the two approaches, it may be concluded that even if constants involve
d in the different equilibria are not known, thermodynamics can qualit
atively explain experimental results and may be a useful tool in order
to predict the mobility of trace elements.
