Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy/Au point-contact junctions have been studied. For a desc
ription of junction properties we used the Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk th
eory where we included the finite lifetime of the quasiparticles. From
the fitting procedures of the experimental differential characteristi
cs, the values of the Fermi velocity upsilon(F) congruent=to 5 X 10(7)
cm/S, the ratio 2DELTA/k(B)T(c) congruent-to 8, and the coherence len
gth xi(ab) congruent-to 35 angstrom for Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy were obtained.
