G. Rong et al., STUDY OF PARTICLE IDENTIFICATION USING DE DX MEASUREMENT IN THE BES LARGE CYLINDRICAL DRIFT CHAMBER/, High energy physics & nuclear physics, 20(3), 1996, pp. 213-224
The method for particle identification using dE/dx information from th
e BES large cylindrical drift chamber is briefly described, The perfor
mance of the particle identification using dE/dx is given, After apply
ing systematic effect corrections and absolute energy calibration to t
he dE/dx raw data, the dE/dx resolution of 7.5% is obtained for minimu
m-ionizing particles (0.4-0.5 GeV/c pi) with more than 30 dE/dx sample
s per track. This results in 3 sigma K/pi separation for momentum up t
o 0.65 GeV/c and 3 sigma e/pi separation in a momentum range of 0.2 le
ss than or equal to p less than or equal to 4 GeV/c.
