A possibility of producing hexagonal boron nitride (alpha-BN) in a flo
w of low-temperature plasma from the product of urea cocrystallization
with boric acid was studied. The reaction between these reagents in t
he 20-1000 degrees C temperature range was investigated using thermal,
X-ray diffraction, and chemical analyses. The operating conditions fo
r the plasma chemical synthesis of hexagonal boron nitride were establ
ished.
