STRUCTURAL STUDIES ON THE PHASE-DIAGRAM OF CERIUM

Energy dispersive X-ray diffraction on Ce in the range of pressures up to 14 GPa and temperatures up to 625 K identifies the structures in t he previously proposed phase diagram and thereby disproves some of the more speculative phase diagrams from the literature, primarily concer ning possible boundaries for the f.c.c. phase at high temperatures.
