Abstract
Using problem-based, student-centered learning, the University of New Mexico School of Medicine has developed a new curriculum to prepare me dical students for future practice. This teaching format is now being used to integrate the training of health care professionals across dis ciplines. The current curricula in medical student and interdisciplina ry training are discussed. The barriers to interdisciplinary training and recommendations for curricular changes are presented.
