T. Adeyemibello et Jm. Tomkiewicz, THE ATTITUDES OF NIGERIANS TOWARD WOMEN MANAGERS, Journal of social behavior and personality, 11(5), 1996, pp. 133-139
The research that has been done in the United States indicates that ma
les and females perceive successful managers as processing characteris
tics that are generally ascribed more to men than women. In this study
, a sample of 70 Nigerians was used to investigate the impact of gende
r on attitudes toward women managers. By using the Women As Managers s
cale, the results indicate that Nigerian women have more positive atti
tudes toward women managers than their male counterparts. The implicat
ions of the results are discussed for two types of multinational firms
.
