S. Nyui et al., PRIMARY MALIGNANT-LYMPHOMA OF THE RECTUM WITH DISTANT METASTASIS TO THE STOMACH - REPORT OF A CASE, SURGERY TODAY-THE JAPANESE JOURNAL OF SURGERY, 27(4), 1997, pp. 349-352
Primary extranodal malignant lymphoma frequently occurs in the gastroi
ntestinal tract; however, it is rarely encountered in the rectum. We r
eport herein the case of an 85-year-old man who underwent abdominoperi
neal resection for primary malignant lymphoma of the rectum, and 1 yea
r later, developed hematemesis caused by gastric metastasis. To our kn
owledge this is the first case report of such distant metastasis devel
oping from malignant lymphoma of the rectum.
