The thermodynamic properties of the A(1)C(60) (A=K, Rb, Cs) alkali ful
lerides have been studied by conventional and modulated differential s
canning calorimetry. The Gibbs free energies and the stability ranges
of the monomer, dimer, and polymer phases are determined. The kinetics
of phase transformation is investigated, and the mechanisms of polyme
rization and phase separation are identified.
