Abstract
Primary carboxamides are converted into the corresponding alkyl carbox ylates by treatment with dimethylformamide dimethylacetal in the appro priate alcohol at 25-45 degrees C. Yields are very good to excellent. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
