Abstract
In the past year, a further seven sites were linked to bipolar illness . Increasingly, it is recognized that mood disorders are multigenic, w ith only a few families showing determinant genes. Recent studies conc entrated on multigenomic linkage studies of genetically isolated pedig rees but future research may be better served by association studies a nd multicentre co-operation.
