Abstract
It is demonstrated that the intrinsic widths incorporating correlation s in conjunction with dynamical contributions give better agreement wi th experiments for collisions in the energy range of 200A MeV to 2A Ge V than using only intrinsic widths without correlations. The sensitivi ty of the intrinsic width decreases with increasing projectile mass. A simple recipe for calculating intrinsic width with correlations is pr esented.
