The Gd-154 nucleus was studied by gamma-ray spectroscopy following the
(alpha, 2n) reaction at an energy of 26 MeV. We identified the double
-phonon K = 4+ gammagamma vibrational band in this nucleus at 1645.8 k
eV. Also, we present the systematics of possible K = 4+ double-phonon
vibrational bands in the deformed rare-earth region of nuclei.
