Rm. Anjos et al., COMPETING REACTION-MECHANISMS FOR THE O-16, O-17, O-18-10, B-11 AND F-19+BE-9 SYSTEMS(B), Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 49(4), 1994, pp. 2018-2035
Fusion, strongly damped, quasielastic and elastic scattering yields ha
ve been measured for the O-16, O-17, O-18+B-10, B-11 systems at 1 MeV
less-than-or-equal-to E/A less-than-or-equal-to 4 MeV and F-19+Be-9 at
56 MeV. The significant yields observed for the strongly energy-dampe
d products are attributed to a fusion-fission process. This identifica
tion is supported by statistical model calculations based on the trans
ition-state model of fission. The elastic scattering data present enha
nced back-angle yields which can be understood in terms of a compound
elastic process. These results help to further establish the reaction
systematics in this mass region.
