MORPHO-LEXICAL REPRESENTATIONS IN NAMING

In two naming experiments, it was shown that response times for morpho logically structured pseudowords are faster than those for orthographi cally matched controls. These results are consistent with those obtain ed in lexical decision tasks with morphologically structured pseudowor ds. The implications of these results for models of lexical processing are considered. In particular, it is argued that the results reported provide support for compositional models of lexical knowledge.
