F. Ribot et al., HYBRID ORGANIC-INORGANIC COPOLYMERS BASED ON OXO-HYDROXO ORGANOTIN NANOBUILDING BLOCKS, JOURNAL OF SOL-GEL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, 8(1-3), 1997, pp. 529-533
Hybrid organic-inorganic copolymers have been prepared following the n
ano-building blocks approach. The oxo-hydroxo butyltin macro-cation, {
(BUSn)(12)O-14(OH)(6)}(2+), which is prepared by hydrolysis of butylti
n tri-isopropoxide, is first functionalized by anchoring onto it metha
crylate groups through electrostatic interactions. Then, to turn these
isolated nano-building blocks into hybrid copolymers, they were assem
bled by initiating the organic polymerization of the methacrylate func
tions. C-13 and Sn-119 NMR, in the solid state, and QELS evidences of
the formation of hybrid organic-inorganic copolymers are reported.
