Abstract
Within the framework of pertubative QCD we calculate inclusive J/psi p roduction using the ''color singlet model.'' Predictions for the total cross section including the leading corrections from initial state ra diation and the psi' contribution are given. We analyze the production and decay properties by considering suitable lepton-hadron correlatio ns. It is shown that the production and the decay process of a J/psi a re described by four structure functions, respectively. We give analyt ical expressions for these structure functions and suggest-energy-depe ndent coefficients of angular distributions as a test for the model. F inally we give detailed predictions for an energy of 10.5 GeV that cou ld be tested at the CLEO-II experiment. The effect of arbitrarily pola rized electron and/or positron beams is included.
