Abstract
Both 1+ and 2+ brown trout fed during the day and at night when held i n hatchery tanks at low temperatures (2.7-3 degrees C). Over 60% of th e daily ration was consumed during daylight hours, but there were diff erences in feeding behaviour between fish of the two age groups: the 1 + trout had greater feeding activity at night than the 2+ fish.
