Re. Gill et al., HIGHLY ORIENTED THIN-FILMS OF A SUBSTITUTED OLIGO(PARA-PHENYLENEVINYLENE) ON FRICTION-TRANSFERRED PTFE SUBSTRATES, Advanced materials, 9(4), 1997, pp. 331
Communication: Highly oriented thin films of oligo(p-phenylenevinylene
)s, oligoPPVs, provide information about the structure of polyPPV and
structure-property relationships. It is shown that deposition of a sub
stituted oligoPPV onto highly preoriented PTFE substrates leads to hig
hly oriented thin films and that annealing produces a remarkable morph
ological change (see Figure and also the cover), an indication of epit
axial growth.
