Abstract
This small-area study of incidence of cancers of the brain and central nervous system found evidence of trend (P=0.02) of cancer risk with d eprivation (8% higher risk in affluent areas), but no significant asso ciation with urban - rural status. Results were not indicative of a st rong geographically determined risk at small-area level.
