Abstract
Several techniques have been advocated to dean and shape pathologicall y involved root canal systems. Studies have shown that most of these t echniques transport the original shape of the apical portion of the ro ot canals. This article describes a step-by-step method, Passive Step Back Technique, which uses a combination of hand and rotary instrument s to dean and shape root canals.
