H. Kimoto et K. Umemoto, CAVITATION IN A V-SLOT - (MEASUREMENT OF IMPULSIVE PRESSURE), JSME international journal. Series B, fluids and thermal engineering, 37(1), 1994, pp. 15-21
In the present experiment, a single cavitation bubble is produced in a
V-slot and the impulsive pressure is detected by four tiny pressure s
ensor elements. The size of a sensor element is 1 mm X 1 mm X 2 mm, an
d the four elements are set at 1.7 mm intervals along a line on the to
p surface of the pressure sensor. From the experimental results, the f
ollowing is revealed. Impulsive pressure caused by microjet impingemen
t in the V-slot is several MPa which is almost the same as that near t
he plane wall. When a bubble is produced near the bottom of the V-slot
, the maximum impulsive pressure is detected at a point 3.4 mm from th
e point of microjet impingement, which is somewhat farther than the di
stance of 1.7 mm on the plane wall.
