Abstract
We calculate the decay width for Lambda(b) --> Lambda(c)e (v) over bar in the framework of a non-relativistic quark (NRQ) model of heavy bar yons where the light quarks play the role of spectators. Our calculati on does not make an explicit use of the heavy quark symmetry. The bran ching ratio for the above process as calculated here agrees reasonably well with the experimental value.
