Ab initio calculations of the effect of hydrostatic pressure on the Fe
rmi surface of transition metals, vanadium (V), niobium (Nb), and tant
alum (Ta) using the linear muffin-tin orbital method in the atomic-sph
ere approximation are presented. The self-consistent calculations are
performed with the use of various exchange-correlation potentials. The
results are compared with available experimental data and theoretical
calculations.
