K. Boukheddaden et F. Varret, VIBRONIC THEORY OF ELECTRIC HYSTERESIS IN BISTABLE MIXED-VALENCE MOLECULAR SALTS, Chemical physics, 216(3), 1997, pp. 373-389
We recently succeeded in investigating a model of ''bistable'' molecul
ar ferroelectrics, based on a two-orbital cooperative adaptation of th
e Piepho-Krausz-Schatz vibronic theory. Here, we describe the behavior
of the system under an applied electric field. We show the peculiarit
ies of the electric hysteresis loops associated with the molecular bis
tability of the system, leading to 3-state information storage.
