The master formula approach to chiral symmetry breaking is used to ana
lyze the phase shifts for mr scattering in the elastic region. The res
ults are in excellent agreement with the data for the phase shifts up
to the K (K) over bar threshold. In the resonance region the bulk of t
he vector current contribution is found to be fixed by the electroprod
uction data in a model independent way. Our analysis shows that the pi
pi data near threshold in the scalar channel favor a large quark cond
ensate in the vacuum, i,e. [<(q)over bar q>] similar to -(240 MeV)(3).
