Abstract
1,2- And 1,2,4,5-paddlanes were successfully prepared by the intermole cular [2 + 2] photocycloaddition of o-divinyl- and 1,2,4,5-terravinylb enzenes, respectively. On the other hand, no desired paddlanes were ob tained from pidivinyl- or 1,2,3-trivinylbenzene. The structural featur es of the obtained paddlanes were examined by UV and H-1 NMR spectrosc opy.
