Abstract
Nickel(II) complexes of two tridentate N.N.S-chelating ligands, 3-hydr oxyimino-butanonethiosemicarbazone (L(1)H(2)) and 3-hydroxyiminobutano ne (4-phenylthiosemicarbazone) (LH(2)), have been synthesized and char acterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic vo ltammetric studies. The structure of Ni(LH(2))(2)(NO3)(2) . H2O has be en determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Nickel(II) is in a distorted octahedral N4S2 donor environment; one of the nitrate groups exhibits partial disorder. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
