C. Fill et H. Tiltscher, INVESTIGATIONS ON MATERIAL AND CORROSION PROBLEMS FOR THE OXIDATION OF CONTAMINATIONS IN SUPERCRITICAL WATER, Werkstoffe und Korrosion, 48(3), 1997, pp. 146-150
A selection of stainless steels and special alloys for the oxidation o
f organic contaminations in aqueous solutions under high pressure and
high temperatures (SCWO - Supercritical Water Oxidation) is shown. A h
igh pressure laboratory plant for representative corrosion studies und
er real conditions of SCWO (temperatures above 647.35 K, pressure abov
e 22.1 MPa) is described. The corrosion behavior of the selected alloy
s (X 2 CrNiMo 18 10; X 5 CrNiMo 17 12 2; X 5 CrNi 18 10; NiCr 15 Fe; N
iMo 16 Cr 16 Ti; NiCr 23 Mo 16 Al) in operation as fittings and reacto
r material is presented and discussed. Especially the degradation of 4
-chlorophenol with oxygen as oxidizing agent shows clearly the differe
nce in corrosion resistance between stainless steels and nickel alloys
.
