Hs. Lee et al., RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN INDOOR AND OUTDOOR AIR-QUALITY DURING THE SUMMER SEASONS IN KOREA, Atmospheric environment, 31(11), 1997, pp. 1689-1693
The annular denuder system (ADS) was used to determine quantitatively
the relationship between indoor and outdoor air. All indoor and outdoo
r measurements were done simultaneously using the ADS in Chongju, Kore
a during the summer season. The data set was collected on eight differ
ent days with a 24 h sampling period from 27 July 1995 to 27 August 19
95. The chemical species measured were HNO3, HNO2, SO2 and NH3 in the
gas phase and PM(2.5)(d(p) < 2.5 mu m), SO42-, NO3- and NH4+ in the pa
rticulate phase. For these data, outdoor air contributed from 50 to 10
0% of indoor pollution environment during the summer season in Korea.
Indoor concentrations for HNO3, SO2, PM(2.5), SO42- and NH4+ were sign
ificantly related to the corresponding outdoor concentrations. These d
ata are the first reported in Korea collected with the ADS. (C) 1997 E
