L. Lopezmartinez et al., SIMPLE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF TINIDAZOLE IN FORMULATION AND SERUM, Analytica chimica acta, 340(1-3), 1997, pp. 241-244
A simple and rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of
tinidazole is presented. This method is based on the measurement of th
e absorbance of the signal at 368 nm yielded by bathochromic shift dur
ing alkaline hydrolysis of tinidazole in 0.1N NaOH. The method is line
ar within the range of 1-30 mu g ml(-1), and the detection and quantif
ication limits are 0.07 and 0.25 mu g ml(-1), respectively. The precis
ion of the method, expressed as the relative standard deviation, is 0.
19% for a tinidazole concentration of 15 mu g ml(-1). The method was a
pplied to the analysis of tinidazole in pharmaceutical formulations an
d serum.
