Abstract
Morphological features of spores of Acaulospora bireticulata Rothwell & Trappe are described and illustrated. The fungus described in this p aper was isolated from the root zone of Ammophila arenaria Link and Ar temisia campestris L. colonizing maritime sand dune soils adjacent to the Baltic Sea, Poland. Acaulospora bireticulata forms light orange to yellowish brown spores with seven walls arranged in three groups. The muronym of the spore wall structure of this fungal species is A(ELo) B(UU) C(MbCM). The innermost wall of group C stains pale red in Meizer 's reagent.
