Five aero-aquatic conidial fungi were found colonizing decaying leaves
and twigs of deciduous and coniferous plants submerged in ponds and s
treams in woodlands of Northern Catalonia, Spain. These are Aegeritina
tortuosa (Bourd. & Gait.) Julich, Clathrosphaerina zalewskii Beverwij
k, Pseudaegerita corticalis (Peck) Crane & Schoknecht, Spirosphaera fl
oriformis Beverwijk and S. minuta Hennebert. A brief description eithe
r from pure culture or from natural substrates is provided for each sp
ecies. The reported species are new records to the Spanish mycobiota.
