K. Vasudevan et al., DELINEATION OF SURFACES BY SKELETONIZATION - APPLICATION TO INTERPRETATION OF 3D SEISMIC-REFLECTION AND GEORADAR DATA VOLUMES, Geophysical research letters, 24(7), 1997, pp. 767-770
A new 3-D skeletonization technique based on a four-cycle correlation
allows automatic event detection and mapping of surfaces in any 3-D vo
lume of reflection seismic data. Interpretation results are comparable
to those derived using conventional 3-D interpretation packages. Furt
hermore, a product of skeletonization is a surface file containing a v
ariety of seismic attributes for each identified surface that can be a
ccessed for detailed statistical analysis.
