Abstract
Y3BO6 berate was prepared by solid state reaction and wet process. The sample so-obtained were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and Infra-red spectroscopy. The dopant, Eu3+ is used as a local structura l probe. From the luminescence spectra obtained under U.V. or visible excitation the presence of four intrinsic sites available for the rare earth dopant have been identified.
