Abstract
We report a case of salmonella spondylitis in an adolescent without si ckle cell disease or any history of salmonella gastroenteritis. The in fecting organism (cultured from material aspirated from the bone lesio n) was Salmonella enterica serovar Newport. With nonoperative treatmen t, evolution was favorable.
